Swim MS

Swimming to support those with Multiple Sclerosis

#WhateverItTakes

Anyone who follows SwimMS has heard me like a broken record.  I will however, say it again - Canada is the country with the Highest rate of MS in the world.  Once again:

CANADA IS THE COUNTRTY WITH THE HIGHEST RATE OF MS

I say it so often and every time I do there are surprised faces in the crowd.  Clearly that means I need to keep saying it until everyone knows.  It's a shocking fact.  It's also shocking that women are 3 times more likely to be diagnosed than men, and shocking still that people are most often diagnosed between the ages of 18 and 40.  I believe that young people in Canada need to be aware of these facts.  I believe that we should at least know what MS is and how it affects us.

The following videos provide some answers to common questions about research, provided by Dr. Karen Lee.  In these clips we also meet Jonathan Allenger, a young man who reflects on the shock and uncertainty of being diagnosed with MS.
